Basic IV (also referred to as "First Adult") Plumage. Essentially adult plumage with minor buffy flecking on head and/or slight termian dark band to tail.

Basic I Plumage (March bird at the start of its 3rd calendar year). Note ragged trailing edge to wing, with some retained juvenile secondaries (longer and more pointed feathers). Note whitish mottling on upperwing coverts, tan crown and pale brown eye.
